Lyric Analysis

The song that I'm doing is named Tears in heaven By Eric Clapton. This song Tears in heaven was wroten because his son Conor died after falling out of a 53 story hotel in New York. This Song was wroten and preformed about two years after Conor's death.

In the song "tears in heaven", Eric Clapton is talking to his son. He is asking his son to forgive him, Because, He feels like what happened was his fault. He feels he should have been watching him. From the lyrics "would you hold my hand" it is clear that he is clear that he is trying to ask his son for forgiveness.

I feel like I can connect this song to Myself. I can connect this song to myself because I have lost someone in my life too. My Great grandma died because she had a tumor in her throat and she couldn't really eat. Its Really sad to lose someone you know I knew how Eric Clapton felt like when he lost his son. If I were to say my last words from the lyrics I would say "beyond the door there's peace I'm sure." I believe that in heaven theres peace and I believe thats were shes at right now.

In This war in Iraq a lot of people feel like Eric Clapton because a lot of children and wifes lose there fathers and husbands. This is How society is connected to the song tears in heaven. A lot of people cry and cry and cry but it doesn't really help anything at all. Sometimes you have to say I must be strong, and carry on, just like Eric Clapton said in his song.

Ever Since I did this analysis I learned more how to listen to music more. I Liked this song a lot because I could connect this song to myself, society, and to the artist (Eric Clapton.) I liked talking about this song a lot. From now on I'm going to listen to songs more and not just singing them.
